Do your kids love Maker Fair event? Do they like industrial tech class? Do they want to build or make something this summer? Then you will love this place.

MakeX Studio

MakeX is a little studio located in Cubberley community center. The little studio is filled with tools, equipments from a sewing machine to 3D printer to build, design, tinker and play with your idea. The best part is free for anyone interested thanks to the sponsorship by Palo Alto City Library and Friends of Palo Alto Library.

Get Hands On with Help from Teen Mentors

If your project requires tools that you are unfamiliar with, teen mentors can help you. You can see them helping other students on office hours. These teen mentors are group of high school volunteers who are passionate about design, engineering and art and more experienced. Because they are also teens, kids love hanging out here.

DIY from Ideation to Implementation

With a goal for helping teens to build from an idea to implementation independently, this is self directed and run by teens so you won’t see parents here. With so many tools and help available, this is a place that you can become hands on and can build something silly or cool because there is no pressure. My only wish for this place is to have more office hours as it currently opens for 2 days about 5 hrs in total.

Office Hour: Friday 4:15PM — 6PM, Saturday 3PM — 6PM

Location: Building V (near Piazza) in Cubberley Community Center, 4000 Middlefield Rd. Palo Alto, CA

Recommended Age: 10 yr old and above

Note: At first visit, you need to fill out liability waiver.
