Next week will be a very exciting week for us. On Monday (April 23rd) we will open the test phase of Green Tickets and share our work with you for the very first time. Be prepared to experience some bugs and inconsistencies as we are still working hard to make our platform better.

Testing already?

This might make you wonder why we picked next week to start testing instead of a few months later. This goes back to one of the most important best practices as explained in Eric Ries’ book The Lean Startup: making sure that you’re making something useful.

Although we are very excited about using Green Tickets ourselves, it’s difficult to know if we are on the right track of helping other people make sustainable travel decisions as well. Maybe the approach we decided on does not work for most others. In that case it will save us a lot of time to change direction now, instead of later.

Our main questions can be defined as:

  • Will Green Tickets solve the problem of multi modal travel planning?
  • For what kind of traveling will Green Tickets be particularly useful?
  • Which target audience would benefit mostly?

What should you expect?

First of all, we decided to only include mobility providers from The Netherlands and Germany for now. So when you’re putting in your search query, make sure that you’re looking for a connection between these two countries.

Second, our engine of calculating the most optimal routes is still a work in progress. So it might happen that you’re provided with a less-than-optimal route. If that happens, let us know through one of the feedback channels!

Also, we tried to connect with as many mobility providers as possible, however, for some we’re still not sure how to calculate the price of the trip. We’ll continue to work on that.

How can I help testing?

We’ll send out invitations on Monday the 23rd of April. You can register by going to getgreentickets.com and enter your e-mail address. It’s very important that you provide us with a lot of feedback. You can do that by sending us an e-mail at info@getgreentickets.com, or through one of the feedback options on our website.

Thanks a lot for helping us! Your feedback is crucial to get to a nice polished product that will revolutionize the way people make travel decisions.
