After 5 Million Hellos, It’s Time To Say Goodbye
GreetBot is shutting down on August 16th, 2022.
After more than 5 years and more than 5 million welcome messages, the time has come for us to say goodbye. GreetBot will be shutting down on August 16th, 2022.
Simply put, we haven’t been able to make GreetBot economically viable. While we’ve been able to welcome many wonderful customers over the years, unfortunately we haven’t managed to build a sustainable business.
Here’s a timeline of what happens next:
- Starting today, May 16th, 2022, we will stop accepting new accounts.
- Billing will stop on July 12th, 2022.
- Until August 15th, 2022 you can continue using the service as usual.
- On August 16th, 2022 all accounts, along with the associated data, will be permanently deleted.
- If you are on an annual plan we will refund the remaining balance on your account.
GreetBot Plus & Enterprise
If you are a GreetBot Plus or Enterprise customer you can keep your subscription until August 15th, 2022. No action is required on your part. You will be able to continue using all paid features until that date as usual.
We will automatically stop billing your account on July 12th, 2022. Depending on your billing cycle, your last billing date will be either on or before that day.
You can, of course, choose to cancel your subscription at any time from your Account Dashboard. Simply click on the “Cancel plan” button under “Settings” and follow the steps on screen.
Backing up your data
If you’d like to make a copy of your configuration data please make sure you do so ahead of time. We’ve added download links to Message Schedule and Message Log so you can easily back up your data locally.
Thank you for giving GreetBot a try
It’s been an enormously rewarding experience to have assisted you all in welcoming your new colleagues, collaborators, customers, and community members. Likewise, we hope GreetBot has helped you build more rewarding working relationships, in and outside of Slack. We want to thank you all for your feedback, support, and kind words on this journey. It means a lot to us.
