Just like it was interesting to Google yourself two decades ago to see how you were represented, with AI connected to the internet, this is what comes out. I generated what follows from using the professional version of ChatGPT that has access to the Internet through Microsoft Bing search. The information was accurate and annotated from internet sources. As an aside, “four decades” is a bit of a stretch but I did write my first computer program on mark-sense cards in Fortran when I was in grade 7. My math teacher in 1977 was a geek with access to a data lab through a friend. He taught us how to create mark-sense Hollerith cards, and we copied short mathematical programs to do simple calculations. He’d take them to the lab and run the programs and we get our printed results on computer-fold out paper with dot matrix printing on it. I felt like it was science fiction. It was like what I imagined when I read “The Stochastic Man”, a book by Robert Silverberg, in the early seventies. That’s the first time I learned how to program…so yeah 40 years in technology.

Harbinger indeed 😏
