What Makes xLabs Different?
Originating Wedge: The first xLab is already operating ; Toronto.xlab.itonstone and serves as the foundational node in what will become a growing mesh of Labs across North America and beyond. the ex lab was incubated by the GSG AI coffee house who have been meeting with a set of oracles that should be advisors to you all they are all geniuses in their craft and in multiple areas as they live our lives as a senior set with the average age of about 60 we are old and we are wise and everyone can come it’s still open in the GSG coffee house that talks about discussions on AI and the world and how it impacts us and try to make things a bit better it’s open and it’s on on Sundays at 11:00 and it goes to one or two depending on the juice. we do demos we share podcasts and art and everything under the sun and we’re excited and we’re energetic everyone is invited it is an open thing it is free and what we do is we generate assets and ideas and we put them in a lockbox called GitHub library that Microsoft protects for us I hope I’m an investor of Microsoft in different ways I buy a lot of their equipment and I am a customer I own a lot of Microsoft gear so I trust them obviously it’s my daily driver I never travel without it in my laptop is always with me as you know me if you know me since 9/11. the laptop is always with even in a disaster in my kind of roll because I’m an observer, I’m a witness I’m a recorder and I need my tools so I always travel with a laptop in these days it’s always a Microsoft laptop because they are over engineered and now they have an AI button. I wish that Microsoft was a sponsor of my sub stack and I wish that I work for Bill Gates in one of his foundations and maybe I will because Jeff Hawkins just got $2 million dollars from The Gates Foundation to investigate a new formation of the human brain based on cortical columns and the idea that there are thousands of brains in the brain. this idea is connected and conversant with what lacun is doing and it’s consistent to create a sense of world model and maybe something else an assessment of the world model but in simulation first and then connected to the world and that’s the most dangerous game of all. to connect self-learning self-replicating autonomous software in charge of replicating machines has the danger of creating a recursion machine or a kind of strange Loop that they can use to modify themselves self-learning is one thing self-creation and out of police is another thing we do not want to accidentally implement another biology on Earth and it the only feel safe is to make sure they never used silicone based and they always use carbon they’re silicon enough always add carbon to robots that’s the burning spear okay now I’m ripping
