You can achieve a lot in one small year

From an old industrial unit a great brewery is growing

It’s amazing what can be achieved in just one year.

Less that 12 months ago, an old industrial unit in the heart of the Cynon Valley was just a dusty shell. There was no brew plant. Just a plan and a barell full of determination.

Ray Davies set off on a mission — to get people in our valley drinking proper beer again. And while he was at it, create a great independent business that will hopefully grow and create jobs and wealth in the local community.

Grey Trees Independent Craft Brewers has had a remarkable journey so far. Pint by pint, barrell by barrel, he’s getting people across the valley to ditch the bland boring global brands and drink proper beer again. And he’s also sending his crafted ales to pubs across Wales and beyond.

Working with Bkie Park Wales

Grey Trees is working with some amazing people — like Bike Park Wales in Merthyr Tydfil — where an exclusive house beer has been bottled for them to quench the thirsts of mountain bikers after an exhilarating day pelting down the hills.

Like Bike Park Wales, Grey Trees is in it for the long game. Turning customers into fans. Thousands of people who love what the brewery stands for.

Ray has even followed the brewery’s fans across the Severn Bridge - taking his JPR’s Pale Ale to the pubs of London for it to be enjoyed during the England v Wales rugby international weekend.

And so to the next milestone. A Grey Trees bar at the beer event of the year, the Welsh Beer Festival in the Millennium Stadium on 5-7 June 2014.

So, you really can achieve a lot in one small year.

After a lot of hard work. After learning a shed load of things, Ray’s proud to say that from an old industrial unit, a great brewery is well and truly growing.
