There has been a wave of thieves committing smash and grab crimes throughout the United States. These individuals are rushing into stores with large groups of people in order to grab as much merchandise as they can. There have been incidents throughout Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

For instance, on Monday night, around 18 people broke into a Nordstrom department store in Los Angeles and stole thousands of dollars in merchandise. Unfortunately, there were similar incidents throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. In Hayward, on Sunday evening, a group of thieves swarmed the Southland Mall. Using hammers, they smashed cases at a jewelry store and grabbed as many items as they could.

Sadly, these are not the only incidents that occurred in the Bay Area. There were over 80 people that swarmed a Nordstrom department store. There were similar raids, Friday night, near San Francisco’s Union Square. Thieves targeted Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Bloomingdale’s stores, Walgreens, and cannabis dispensaries.

The crazy thing about these incidents happening throughout Southern and Northern California is that it is not just isolated to California. There are smash-and-grab crimes occurring in Chicago as well. Last week, 14 robbers barged into a Louis Vuitton store in suburban Chicago. They fled with more than $100,000 in handbags and other merchandise.

What do you think about these smash-and-grab crimes happening? There is a potential for these crimes to multiply and get much worse. Considering, Black Friday shopping will start this Friday, there is a possibility that more thieves may take advantage of this day. With malls and stores being packed with customers, Black Friday would be an easy target.

Will you stay home this weekend to avoid smash-and-grab crimes? Let us know down in the comments!
