Sac State, City of Sacramento, Parter with GridMatrix for Real Time Campus Transit Management
Sacramento, CA, October 2nd, 2023 — GridMatrix, the leading provider of cloud-based advanced traffic analytics solutions, is thrilled to announce the launch of its groundbreaking deployment with California State University at Sacramento (“Sac State”, “the University”), in partnership with the City of Sacramento (“the City”). The work will support the University as well as the City’s efforts to understand vehicular and pedestrian campus traffic patterns.
Sac State required insights into its traffic patterns to enhance its transportation infrastructure. The network of sensor data provided by GridMatrix will detect and measure congestion, emissions, signal performance and safety for the town. The University and the City will be able to access real-time information about road usage, allowing it to improve reaction times to events like accidents and traffic. This information can then be used over time to track road-use trends and proactively identify dangerous intersections, idling hotspots, and the root causes of traffic.
