BBetween her doe-eyed stare, long dark hair, and voluptuous body, influencer Joselyn Cano, 30, was a dead-ringer for Kim Kardashian. So much so that her 13 million Instagram followers nicknamed her the “Mexican Kim Kardashian.”

But those impossible Kardashian beauty standards also led Cano to a plastic surgeon’s office in Columbia for a Brazillian Butt Lift — a cosmetic surgery where fat from the back or stomach is grafted onto the buttocks.

And that is where the similarities in their lives end.

Cano died on December 7th, 2020, from surgery complications.

When I look at Cano's pictures, I wonder why such a beautiful woman and mother of two would undergo such a risky procedure. (1 in 3000 die from butt lifts.) Didn’t she see she was enough?

But beauty has never been a destination. It’s a moving target in a game where the rules are always changing. It’s why the most beautiful women are often the most insecure — they are admired for something they cannot hold on to.
