So what is eSports?

eSports, or electronic sports, is a sports competition using video games such as League of Legends. eSports is an organized competition that has individuals or teams face off in multiplayer games. These competitions are often played in Stadiums but thanks to platforms such as Twitch it is easy to stream the high energy matches to a large number of people. eSports has been around for almost 50 years and started in 1972 when a Space Invaders competition had 10,000 participants(1). It is safe to say technology has changed a lot since 1972 and so has eSports. eSports is like any sport and has some incredible professionals who are at the top of their game.
