While there are many guidelines for all people being given out if you fall into one of these groups quarantine isn’t just an inconvenience or something to be ignored, it could be a life-saving practice.
Stay Up to Date
Since the beginning of this pandemic, one thing has remained clear, everything is changing by the minute. The CDC is the group with the most updated information. They also offer tips on how best to protect your home and you from this virus. Check your local Health Department for updates on what’s changing in your community.
How to shop safely
Albertsons and Target, as well as many other stores, have adjusted their hours to have times for vulnerable shoppers and have urged other shoppers to avoid coming in at these times. If you live alone or no one else can do the shopping for you this is a great option. Another great way to stay safe is to look into store delivery options. Getting groceries delivered to you is a very safe way to shop and can help save you from being exposed to any extra germs. Lastly, reach out and ask neighbors for help. One person going to do the shopping for a group of homes is better than one person from every house. If you don’t know your neighbors super well download apps like Nextdoor to see what efforts are being made in your neighborhood.

Have a treatment plan in place with your doctor so you know what to do if you have symptoms of COVID-19. Make sure you know what changes are happening in hospitals and who to contact if you are showing symptoms. You should also have a plan for your household about what to do if someone gets sick or is in contact with some who has symptoms.
Take a break
Don’t forget to take a break from everything going on. It is important to remember that while things are crazy and changing constantly we may never get this time to stay home and take a break for everything. While being in a high-risk group adds on extra stress it is important to remember to take time for yourself. Whether it’s working on an unfinished project or binge-watching your favorite show again you deserve a break from all the craziness.
