Design tasks
I tried to organize things, that i think require help from designers. I didn’t prepare a good explanation about requirements/duties for designer team,
but as we at early stages, i assume this is ok. I have a lot of content to share with new members, that will give you more information about what is going on.
1) Recipe app development
Some details you can read at our previous articles:
- If you have recipe based website and want to have an application too
- How I plan to get from an app idea into working prototype
What about using free stuff and do it asap, using small baby steps?
How i can pick a good UI bundle for this? I like them all :)
UI Kits that we can use as starting point
BLOCKER I must specify all pages before picking up a UI. And finish with organizing components list that i want to use.
1.1) Create app wireframes
In order to help me and app developers I’ll ask you to create simple wireframes for a first release — I think sketch will be a good tool. Let’s call it wireframes, that shows an UI behaviors. I have an all data. Then I’ll need to create some sort of sitemap, schema or diagram. This sitemap will be used by our app developers so they will better understand what we’re doing and what user experience we should recreate. Read this
Create an interactive wireframes that copy pages logic from wireframes of app that i did few years ago. For a first time i’m ok to have that wireframes without design. Just Elements, blocks, text will be fine.
What i want to have as result — an Invision design(maybe?), where developer can see what page is opens first, second. what can be when user clicks on some buttons, etc. At next stages we should extend wireframes with features, that we plan to add in next releases.
List of releases:
- Free Menu release — simple app, where you can see recipes, ingredients, grocery list with items from recipes. Nothing complex.
- Weekly Menu release — second version, where we have list or recipes, group by weeks.
- Search & replace recipes, with advanced grocery list features
- Meal Planning Service — contain all features that listed below

App wireframes
I think we can pick one of this templates
- Mobile UX Flow Sketch template
- UX Flow Sketch template
- Low fidelity app wireframe
- Flowchart Kit Sketch template

2) Groceristar UX
I build current version of groceristar project without spending time at design. It looks bad. It works, but this is not what i have in my head. Video about how current release looks here. Latest version of homepage here.
3) Meal Planning UX
“Create something, similar to this design: https://dribbble.com/shots/4049981-Food-App-Concept-Desktop-Version/attachments/928305"
Ok, main idea was to create a more unique way, when user itteract with meal planning software. At my few previous projects — we didn’t set a goal to make things beautiful. We want it work — that it. And in the end — it was just another website with simple blocks, images and form fields. What i want to do right now — is to create something that will give user feeling that we carrying about him. something simple, creative and cool.
You can see main features that must be included on this videos #1 & #2.
We’ll need to make an interface, that will be more friendly than versions from video.
4) Dietary Management UI
We need to build the first version of dietary management tool. I don’t have a proper idea of how it’ll look. it’s like an open frame right now.
I can provide an additional data upon request. I’ve completed a first version of specification.
