Outdoor Holiday Craft Ideas

Perfect activities for child care centers!

With the holiday season in full swing, now is a perfect time to help children create holiday crafts! Not only do they allow children to explore their creativity, but this artwork also makes a great family keepsake. Here are some easy outdoor holiday craft ideas!

  1. Holiday Cards
Children can create cards for their friends and/or family. Not only are they exercising their creativity, but they also get to show gratitude towards loved ones.
  2. Tree Ornaments
Parents will love decorating their tree with these for years to come. Be sure to sign and date the back! You can even incorporate natural materials such as leaves or pine cones. Children can decorate them with paint, glitter, etc.
  3. Wreaths
You can use these to decorate your classroom for the holidays! Gather greenery, leaves, berries, and more.
  4. Gingerbread Houses
From simple to complex, this holiday tradition will be fun for children to do in school. If children aren’t eating them, use a glue gun to construct the houses so they don’t fall down when decorating them! In addition to candy, you can use natural materials such as pine cones for children to decorate with.
  5. Cookie Decorating
Grab some different colored icing and let children decorate their own holiday cookies!
