GroupRoom APIs

Want to add proximity video chat and collaboration to your existing products or services? Checkout GroupRoom’s new REST APIs!

Paying customers can now request a GroupRoom API key which gives them access to our new REST and WebSocket APIs for managing rooms, users, chats, and presence status outside of the GroupRoom app. We also offer WebHooks for notifying your platform when users join and leave your GroupRooms. Here’s how it works:

In regards to your audience, your users can always join rooms by directing their browser to https://www.grouproom.io/{roomName}

Users can preview rooms (and linked rooms) by directing their browser to https://www.grouproom.io/preview/{roomName} (this view can also be iframed within your app and we will remove the header)

Note: We also have a suite of WebSocket APIs for managing realtime player/user movements and proximity communications if you would like to leverage our platform for realtime spatial video chat communications!
