Introducing GroupRoom — Spatial Video Chat for Virtual Events

Video chat doesn’t work well for large groups or social situations because only one person can speak at a time.

GroupRoom allows participants to move around the space and collaborate with others near them. For example, three people on one side of the room can have a group conversation with a whiteboard or google doc etc completely separate from a group of two people on the other side.

GroupRoom is the next best thing to meetings, conferences, expos, classrooms, concerts, break rooms, and even happy hours in person!

How Does GroupRoom Work?

As users move around the room, our spatial algorithm detects their proximity to other users in the space and lights up their video avatars and slowly increases their volume as they get closer to you — and visa versa.

Users can move throughout the space and engage with different users and groups of users during the event. This allows many smaller groups of users to have productive conversations at the same time.

GroupRoom is designed to run in all Web browsers on any device (mobile, tablet, laptop, and desktop) — no downloads required. Simply share your GroupRoom link in a calendar invitation or as a social media event. It’s that simple!
