GroupRoom just added location (home and office) awareness to its presence settings as well as weekly team scheduling to help get your company’s teams back in the office at the same time.

The first thing you will notice is a new Profile page added to the GroupRoom dashboard. This page includes your company name (based on your account’s email address), your location, your presence (available, interruptible, and do-not-disturb), and your weekly location schedule. You can quickly modify your planned morning and afternoon locations by clicking on each icon to toggle your destination to home or office.

The next thing you will notice is a new Teams page added to the GroupRoom dashboard. This page lists all of your colleagues registered on GroupRoom with the same company email address and their weekly location plans allowing you to schedule office visits at the same time.

Note: You will need to verify your email address to show up on the new teams page. This was added as a security update to prevent signups with fictitious company email accounts.

When joining our digital hybrid workplace (rooms), you will now see a presence ring color around your avatar to denote your availability (green, yellow, red) as well as a home of office icon next to user avatars denoting user location. These indicators make it easy to tell when you can interrupt someone at work and whether or not you can physically walk down the hall to speak with them or if you need to virtually move your avatar near them in GroupRoom.

These features are intended to help bridge the communication and collaboration gaps between remote and onsite workers as well as to help your teams coordinate times and locations to meet in person.

Let’s get back to working together by inviting both your onsite and remote workers into our digital hybrid workplaces today!

Reach out to us on Twitter or Facebook or drop us an email if you would like a demo of GroupRoom or discuss your team needs in more detail with us.
