Follow these tips to make a good impression at your next date!

So I think it goes without saying that the key to a good first date or any further dates afterwards is making a good impression on your dating partner. And one of the factors in making a good impression on your date is your … outfit! What you wear could make or break your date and, in this article, I shall provide you with a few pointers to dress for dating success —

Keep it casual but smart.

This is not the time to pull out those old loafers from two years ago or that grey blazer with the horrible coffee stain. You want to be casually smart enough to make a good impression on your date. Trends and styles come and go but a crisp and clean appearance is always a resounding yes for a first date! After all, your outfit should match your comportment quite nicely.

Don’t overdo it with the accessories!

A few statement pieces here and there to accentuate your outfit are more than sufficient. For women, this could be an interesting choker, a dainty pair of earrings or a quaint little bracelet. Men are better off with a nice tie (if it’s a black-tie date) or a quirky pair of cuff links to go with their outfit. Nothing too loud and busy, however (unless you have the personality to match)! You want your date to notice you for all the right reasons. Thus, your accessories should be conversation starters, not conversation enders.

Keep statement pieces at home

That Metallica band tee or that outfit that proclaims your support in favor of a social issue. If you don’t know that much about your date yet, keep your outfit neutral.

That said, no matter the outfit you have on, kindness and fun is the most essential outfit you could wear. Here’s to dressing well for more dating success!
