4 stunning creative coding workshops are scheduled in Paris for GROW’s 2018 edition
You are a web development or game design professional, you have an artistic project and you want to develop new creative coding skills? GROW.Paris festival is organizing 4 workshops sessions lasting 2 days each in the French capital, on November 14th & 15th, animated by the best creative coders in the place and our partner Pyramyd formation.
Here are more details about the workshops: each of your future tutor was kind enough to spend some time with us for a short video interview ;)
Please note that workshops will take place in Paris at Pyramyd formation, 15 rue de Turbigo (75002, Paris) after 2 days of conference at Ground Control. 3 of them will be in English and 1 one in French.
Workshop #1: Graphic design can draw triangles, but Pythagore did it first, 14 hours — by Gaël Hugo (EN)
Gaël Hugo is a swiss Creative director with a demonstrated history of working in the graphic design industry. In the past, he worked with musicians such as Gotan Project or Breakbot; cultural institutions such as the Gaîté Lyrique, the Van Gogh Museum or the Google Cultural Institute; but also for visual artists or commercial brands including Chanel, Hermes, Samsung, etc. Gaël Hugo is also a professor at ECAL, a school of art and design in Lausanne. He also was a speaker at KIKK’s festival 2016 edition. Check out his video presenting his workshop session!
You must know ATOM or another Sublime code editor, Javascript, Python (a little), CSV files, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Workshop #2: Programming shape and motion, 14 hours — by Grégoire Divaret-Chauveau (FR)
Grégoire is a programmatic computer artist. He loves to use mathematical concepts and geometric knowledges to code.

You must know Javascript and programming in general. Having good understanding of geometry and space is a good asset.
Workshop #3: Welcome to Shaderland, 14 hours — by Léon Denise (EN)
Léon Denise is a French technical artist graduated of the Institute of Creation and Digital Animation (ICAN) and the School of Computer Engineering (ESGI). He makes illustration, comics, games, interactive experiences and procedural visualisation with computer coding. Take a look at his work and discover what his workshop will be about here!
You must perfectly know Javascript, having good knowledge of 2D’s API. Even better if you know 3D and WebGL.
Workshop #4: Making Generative Art with JavaScript, 14 hours — by Matt DesLauriers (EN)
We don’t need to introduce you Matt DesLauriers, creative coder & generative artist from Toronto (Canada), now based in London (UK). Coming from a background in film & media studies in Canada, Matt weaves together art, programming and technology to build creative projects for the web, print, and public installation. He has a strong experience with web development, OpenGL/WebGL andGLSL, JavaScript, Node.js, Unity3D and Python. Take a look at his video to know more about his workshop at GROW Paris festival!
