Wanting to get your personal trainer a gift but not sure what to get?

As a personal trainer myself, here’s my list of the best things to get your personal trainer:

HELIMIX Vortex Blender

You don’t need a whisk!

This is one of the first ones where trainers don’t have to worry about losing a whisk!!

Shaker cup problems

Trainers need to separate their protein and pre-workout, you don’t want to mix that in the same shaker cup because protein sticks! Lots of trainers have 2 shaker cups. Most trainers have a dozen types of cups like this and losing the whisk renders them useless!

Insulated Gallon Water Bottle

You think you drink a lot of water? Your trainer probably drinks more :)

Most trainers drink a minimum of a gallon per day, you want to get him something that’s at least a gallon! Insulated is better, the straw makes a lot of difference so if it falls, it doesn’t leak anywhere.

LMNT Electrolytes Packets

The best hydration supplement on the market

LMNT is the best hydration supplement on the market! In terms of the ratio of electrolytes, it’s scientifically proven to be superior.

Helps with hydration especially if you’re fasting

Electrolytes are important for trainers who are fasting throughout the day and needing to hydrate prior to their workout. These packets are also great to have on hand if your trainer has a client who comes in who is not hydrated so they can drink this throughout the workout.

Protein Powder Funnel

Your trainer likely carries around lots of powder for all their workout drinks

Most trainers will take a pre-workout, intra-workout, and also post-workout drink… Which is a lot of powder to carry around!

Along with needing a container for the powder, you also need a handy way to funnel it into a water bottle if needed. These funnels are easy to use, and will definitely be used by almost any trainer.

Shaker Cup Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Whisk

Keeping your shakes cool and whisked

Trainers will likely be pre-mixing their protein shakes at home as they can’t make them at their gym. There’s a good chance that your trainer will make his own blended concoction (filled with fruit, different alternatives of milk, etc.) which will need to stay cool to stay palatable and not go bad.

Having an insulated blender bottle for a lot of trainers is an indispensable thing to have, and they will need a whisk to mix around their post-workout concoction. Stainless steel is also better than plastic as it’s less porous.

Beats Wireless Earbuds

Leaving your headphones at home can wreck your workout

Most trainers will workout in the middle of their shift, and the worst thing for a trainer is to lose or leave their headphones charging on their bedside table. Gifting them an extra set of headphones is almost guaranteed to be a good idea. These headphones will fit almost any ear (unlike earbuds). A lot of trainers have intense workouts so they’re going to need something smaller instead of larger headphones. Some clients may wear larger headphones, but trainers normally do not. No one’s going to be against Beats, as they’re always good quality.

Under Armour Duffle Bag

Great brand

Trainers are very picky when it comes to the brands and quality for their gym equipment! Almost no trainer is going to dislike the Under Armour brand.

Special pocket for shoes!

Every trainer is going to need a gym bag to change in and out of, one thing that specifically is very important for them is to have a gym bag that has a pocket for shoes! They’re almost always going to have separate workout shoes than what they wear to the gym.

Garmin Smartwatch

Lots of fitness-oriented features

Almost every trainer is monitoring their heartrate. They usually use a watch (or could benefit from one!) that has a lot of fitness-oriented features. It’s a safe bet regardless of whether they’re an Apple or Android user, even Apple users tend to like the Garmin watch.

Gummy Bears

Great fuel if you’re running on empty

Unbeknownst to many clients, there’s a large percentage of clients that, during their first session, will feel hypoglycemic, or they’ll come into the gym already running on empty, having eaten hours ago.

Not only is having electrolyte powder handy, but the best thing ever is to have these pouches of gummy bears on hand. They’re both helpful and comical to handout if the situation presents itself.

Large Pyrex Food Storage Containers

Win-Win for the gym or at home

Glass setware (obviously Pyrex being the most popular brand) is a guaranteed win for a trainer because they’ll either use them at home or they will bring them to the gym, so you can’t go wrong getting your personal trainer a set of Pyrex.

Pyrex wins over plastic

The vast majority of trainers are self-aware of the potential risks or harmful effects that excessively microwaving plastic has, so think again if you’re planning to gift your trainer some plastic Tupperware.

Get large containers!

Your trainers meals are almost always large! Don’t underestimate the appetite of the personal trainer, go for the larger size. The healthier the meal, the bigger it can tend to be!

Active Wear Laundry Detergent

Help them with their laundry

As with the headphones, it is very clear that a lot of trainers have a lot of tough workouts and sweat a lot. Even the best gym trainer will forget a sweaty gym shirt in their bag, they will benefit greatly from having a boost to their laundry.

Hint: even using dish soap (Dawn) in your laundry can help take out stains and helps to clean interesting odors. Believe it or not it won’t foam up your washing machine like it will do to your dishwasher!

FunkAway Odor Eliminator Spray

Helpful for deodorizing bags, shoes, etc.

Even the most diligent trainer will leave a pair of dirty socks in their gym bag. This is the best thing to deodorize bags, shoes, etc. This has a fresh scent, and you can spray it in your gym bag or your car.

Works for sockless shoe designs

It’s also a great thing to have on hand for the sockless shoe designs (which more than 50% of trainers are probably using, compared to maybe 5–10% of clients who wear them). The shoeless designs really helps because it’s a better alternative than keeping track of multiple pairs of socks throughout the day.

Shower Shoes

If they need them, they probably have them, but…

Forgetting your shower shoes is the worst when you need them!

Most trainers shower at the gym, and those who want to use shower shoes likely already have a pair. BUT they probably don’t have a back-up. Having a back-up (or even multiple) is really handy because they will need them.
