Introduction

While there seem to be loads of apps already out there geared towards fitness & personal trainers, only a few have turned into household words for trainers & clients alike. Think MyFitnessPal :)

I am working on an app to help independent personal trainers manage their businesses. We’re in the early stages of development and are looking for feedback and beta testers, so if you’re interested you can sign up here!

Some of the Best Apps Already Out There:

MyFitnessPal
Mindbody
ABC Trainerize
Teamup

MyFitnessPal

If you’re old school, you may be content with just using a notebook, or you may know things by heart to the point where you don’t even need to count calories anymore.

But what about your clients?

MyFitnessPal is a super popular app to help you and your clients keep track of both exercise and nutrition.

Mindbody

Mindbody boasts that they can help grow your business by 36% in 6 months, according to their customer data from 2021–2022.

One of the most powerful applications of their app is the ability to manage your class & appointment schedules.

ABC Trainerize

For independent personal trainers, ABC Trainerize boasts 3X client engagement, 20% increase in clients month over month, and 50% growth year over year, though they don’t state any more specifics on the data behind these numbers.

The app takes an integrated approach where you can use it for nutrition planning and habit tracking in addition to keeping up with workouts.

Teamup

While Teamup can be a great fit for a corporate work environment, the applications of the app are actually really broad and can even extend to independent personal trainers.

With Teamup, you can make your calendar available to clients where they can self-book sessions with you depending on your availability:

So What?

TrainerBase is Coming

Throughout my time at the gym with my gym trainer, we’ve determined that, even with everything “already out there,” we can build a better app.

Improved client scheduling & appointment tracking will be our initial focus. We’re constantly looking into other feature ideas for a better app.

We’re in the early stages of development and are looking for feedback and beta testers, so if you’re interested you can sign up here!
