In a cabin deep in the woods by a creek, I grew a little stronger.

In a cabin deep in the woods by a creek, next to an empty seat, I grew a little stronger.

In a cabin deep in the woods by a creek, I turned a year older, I grew a little stronger.

In a cabin deep in the woods by a creek, the kids and I enjoyed each other, we grew a little stronger.

In a cabin deep in the woods by a creek, we took our first family vacation as a family of 3. I never thought I would be able to take us on vacations again. Our first vacation happened in that cabin deep in the woods by the creek.

We sprinkled the creek with a little of our love and said our prayers and we all hugged there…grasping onto what has become left of our family. We all grew stronger in that cabin deep in the woods by the creek….

Dear Cabin,
XOXO

About the writer: All stories are personal experiences of a middle aged wife who was living life and loving everyday. One random day, she suddenly lost her husband. Went straight from happily married to widow. Went straight from stay-at-home mom of two to Medicaid and fighting to survive. Lost, she turned to writing as therapy and found her VOICE. Grew to become a new “her” and slowly climbed her way to a full-time job. She’s the mom her kids need, the writer her mental needs, and the supporter her family needs.
