He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? — Luke 16:10–11

Jesus was speaking to the people in a parable and makes something very clear to us as believers. In essence, he says a few things:

Faithfulness in the little things automatically implies you’ll be faithful in bigger things

Why? Because your faith and character have been tried and proven — in essence, faithfulness in little things prepares you to be faithful with bigger things.

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. — James 1:3–4

If you haven’t learned to be faithful with the ₦1,000 you earn right now, you’ll remain unfaithful even when you begin earning ₦1,000,000.

If you haven’t learned faithfulness in little things, bigger things will not be committed to your care

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; — Ephesians 6:5–6

If as a believer, you’re not faithful with the “work” in your hands, how then can you be faithful with the work of your heavenly Father?

We must be faithful through and through; this is what God demands of us as His children.

Action for today

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, — Ephesians 3:17

Pray in the Holy Spirit to be grounded in love; love establishes our hearts in faith.
