Growing Up In Johnson County

When you’re young growing up in JC, there isn’t much to do other then run and play until the sunsets. Your neighbors are your best friends and the earth is your play ground. An article once said “One day you and your friends went outside to play for the last time, but you didn’t know it was the last time”. Adversity is a part of life, you’re shielded from this at a young age but as we grow and mature, adversity becomes a lot harder to hide from. My freshman year of high school, a close friend of mine committed suicide, it was hard and life seemed a little less bright. But I took this terrible event and made it my goal be closer and nicer to everyone. Growing up isn’t necessarily about hardships but rather how you recover from them.
