How to activate a chatbot custom ad in 5 minutes?

A chatbot is an extension to your Facebook Page’s messaging functionality.

Then, you can personalize the type of message you want to send, and who you want to send messages to.

How to use Custom audiences for Chatbot?

You can use custom audiences to send traffic to your chatbot.

This can allow you to send more qualified traffic to your chatbot and to get a better conversion rate (depending on your objectives).

This can also allow you to personalize and make your chatbot interact in a different way depending on the audience.

How does it works?

You need first to create custom audiences or lookalike audiences.

Custom and lookalike audiences can be generated directly from your Business Manager

→ You need to have your PIXELS installed before building custom audiences.

Use Chatbot Block structure:

What are blocks and bot’s structure?

A block is a basic building block of your bot.

It consists of one or more message cards that are sent together to a person who interacts with your bot.

You can link blocks with each other.

When your bot’s user taps the button, they’ll receive all the messages the new block has inside.

Knowing this, you can create entirely personalized messages

By default, the bot starts with the “Welcome message” block.

Step by step guide:

To set up personalized Bot activation, you need to create custom audiences. Here are some example below:

  • Interacted with your Facebook page (like, comment)
  • Have seen this or this video
  • Have visited your Landing page
  • You can also use lookalike audiences

Here is one example of a lookalike audience (below);

(always use 1% or 2% maximum when you create lookalike audience to avoid overlap).

Activate your chatbot:

Now, you want to activate your Chatbot, and you want to personalize depending to which audience is targeted.

Step by step:

1° Create a messenger campaign

2° Create your ad

3° Set up with the audience you want to use for the campaign (lookalike, custom audience)

4°Wen created your ad, in the messenger setup use the setting I give you below:

  • Create a custom experience
  • Text only + Message (Hey {name} Please let us know how we can help you)
  • Label : “Start now”
  • action: sent a postback
  • Block name + (example “Welcome message”) or Block Name you want to start with.

Insert the Block name you want to start with

You’re all set ! 😎

Now, when people will interact with your ad (if you have selected that custom audience), the chatbot will start automatically to talk with the welcome message block.

And if I don’t want to pay for ad? 🤐

You can also activate you chatbot directly from your Facebook account.

Facebook → Business Integration → “Send message from pages you manage at any time after the first user interation”

Then, your chatbot will interact automatically when people like, comment your Facebook page :-)

One last thing:

You can only have one chatbot per Facebook page.
