How not to sell 👎👎👎

I recently had experienced a pretty poor sales pitch and it’s not the first
But what made them so poor?
1) The number one problem with salespeople is they talk more than they listen
Because they are too busy trying to sell they don’t take the time to find out the potential client’s paint/problem or goals. Probably because they are too busy trying to remember their sales script…
2) Trying to close before establishing goals/targets
Closing is probably the most crucial part of selling but it shouldn’t blind you from helping your potential client understand their goals. If they don’t know or understand what they are buying why should they buy from you?
3) Selling with no rapport
At the end of the day, people buy from people. If they don’t trust you or if there is no rapport sales are highly unlikely to happen!
This has been overlooked far too much in my opinion.
Did I miss anything out?
What poor sales experiences have you had?
