How to connect with targeted prospects and make it seem coincidental

We need to connect with certain people to move our business forward. When we connect with the right targeted prospects, sky is the limit. One of the hardest parts in the process is being able to enter these prospects networks.

One of the easiest ways to connect with a prospect is to have a referral. With a referral, their guard is down and there is a higher probability they would be open to connecting.

We don’t always have a referral so I will be showing you how you can create more opportunities for referrals by being visible to the right people at the right time.

Because if you came across someone that “liked” your content or “viewed” your profile and it could help you or someone you know, you may be inclined to share your discovery.

You truly never know if you don’t try.

Let’s get into it!

Tools needed

  • LinkedIn Premium Sales Navigator
  • Linked Helper

Process

  1. Scour the news or setup automation through Zapier to send relevant news to your email
  2. Find brands/companies that may need your solution or are actively investing in a new way to do things
  3. Visit LinkedIn with installed Linked Helper extension (make sure you buy LinkedIn Premium Sales Navigator otherwise your account may be shut down due to viewing limits — w/sales navigator you have unlimited but still stay within Linked Helpers suggested thresholds)
  4. Search for the brand/company you want to connect with
  5. Click on “XXXXX employees” link on their company profile
  6. Type into the search box for keywords or titles of decision makers you think may be interested in speaking to you about this or can connect you to the right person
  7. Create and name a new list for Profile Auto-visiting
  8. Click “collect” tab and press “start” to start collecting profiles
  9. After you’ve collected enough profiles, press “stop”.
  10. Click on “visit” tab and press “start” to start visiting profiles
  11. Continue to collect as much of the list as possible and visit all the profiles (You can separate this window into its own to do work in other windows but do not minimize the window that is visiting profiles.)
  12. Pay attention for those looking back at your profile as they were curious enough to look at you.
  13. If they are relevant to your goals, send a connection request with a connection message with either a rapport building comment or mentioning recent news you read about the company.
  14. Once they have connected with you, send them a follow-up message and do your best to schedule a call within the first few days of connecting.
  15. The rest is all up to the rest of your lead gen process (hopefully you have one). This is used to elevated your prospect process without spending too much time on it.

Hope you enjoyed this and it’s provided some value for your lead generation process. We all need leads to grow and there’s no reason to be timid in your approach. Someone is out there looking for someone just like you!

Happy hunting!
