1. How do you briefly describe your past work experience?

I have a work experience of 6 years as a Personal Assistant to the General Manager of a government company named NHIDCL. It was a great learning experience for me, apart from being an assistant; I gathered knowledge in the areas of Administration, Data-entry, etc. Before that, I also had the experience of being a CCE for Citibank (US) through IBM for almost 7 months.

2. What made you switch from that job to being VA at Growup? How did you cope with the transition?

I am a single mother and taking care of my daughter while having a full-time Office job was difficult for me yet I was happily managing it until my company transferred me to a remote village. I had to reluctantly part ways with the company because moving there was not possible. Then I came across the opportunity to work from home with Growup. It’s a different experience altogether yet I am finding ways to excel in this field.

3. How has your journey as a VA been so far?

My journey as a VA so far has been satisfying. Working from home is a boon in disguise for working mothers like me. My heartfelt gratitude to the Growup Group to come up with such an idea. Working on numerous online tools is new to me and I am glad that I have learned many new tools & skills.

4. What does your typical workday look like?

A typical workday starts around 9:30 am for me. To begin with, connecting with colleagues and wishing them ‘Good morning’ is a beautiful culture in Growup. Later, I sign in to AVD and there I use multiple tools that I have learned during the training to perform my duties. At the end of the day, Sign off by sharing the Toggl report.

5. What are the new skill sets acquired as a VA? What is the learning curve in virtual work?

As a VA I have acquired a bunch of new skill sets. I enjoy learning new things and believe that one must never stop exploring or learning new things. I had knowledge of MS Office, and Gsuite but working on various management tools is absolutely new to me. I learned tools like Loom, Lumen 5, Canva, Asana, Trello, Buffer, and many more. I’m thankful to Growup for introducing me to these life-changing tools.

6. What is one thing about what you do that makes you excited to get up tomorrow and do it again?

Working online is quite different from working in Office. Yet, remote work is the best mode to have a work-life balance. Hence, the thing which motivates me every day to get up and start working is the balance I could bring to my personal life and career.

7. How has your family supported and adapted to your work?

In my family, I have only my daughter and she is happy about the fact that she gets to see her mother all the time around her. She understands the importance of work and has been supportive in every possible way she can.

8. What prospects are you looking forward to in your career?

In my career, I am looking forward to growing more with the help of Growup Group. I am grateful for the fact that I came across such an opportunity where I can earn and also take care of my daughter and her needs.

9. What else do you want someone to know about working virtually?

In conclusion, I want to convey that whosoever is searching for a balanced work-life must start working virtually. The flexible working hours and vast knowledge imparted by the team will not only boost your career but also bring a feeling of satisfaction in yourself. Go and grab the opportunity through Growup! as working here has got me the balance I could bring to my personal life and career.
