A day in the life of a Growup Virtual Assistant
- How do you briefly describe your past work experience?
My past experience was special as I worked for client Microsoft, being employed with Zen3 Infosolutions and TechMahindra for 7 years. It taught me to fine-tune my research skills and to update information by understanding the guidelines.
2. What made you switch from that job to being VA at Growup? How did you cope with the transition?
The main reason for switching was no growth for many years as working from home was my need and the company did not have the policy to promote me to the next level. I was doing the same tasks for 7 years.
3. How has your journey as a VA been so far?
My journey with Growup so far has been a thorough learning process while on the job for the deployment of 8 hours. From day one I have been encouraged, supported, and welcomed by the entire team at Growup. I look forward to giving my best each day not under any pressure but from the motivation that I receive from Growup management.
4. What does your typical workday look like?
My day usually starts at 9:30 AM with a beautiful routine of wishing all the colleagues and then starting with the client assignments.
5. What are the new skill sets acquired as a VA? What is the learning curve in virtual work?
I have research experience of 7 years, but working with the client each day my research skills are becoming better, wherein I am understanding the sources and comprehension of content in a more efficient manner. Apart from that through Growup training, I got an insight into many tools like G suite, MS office, and Toggl. As a VA one has to learn and upgrade self to match the dynamic requisites of the clients. VA has to keep learning and match up to the competency as expected.
6. What is one thing about what you do that makes you excited to get up tomorrow and do it again?
The will to perform better than the previous day.
7. How has your family supported and adapted to your work?
My family is totally supportive, and I have my personal workstation which is no less than any professional setup.
8. What prospects are you looking forward to in your career?
I am looking forward to a progressive career as I have restarted after a long gap, and it is challenging for me to adapt and grow, but I never lose hope and accept challenges gracefully and focus on getting over them.
9. What else do you want someone to know about working virtually?
Working virtually is a blessing according to me especially when you are a mother, as your child is with you always and saves a lot of time and effort that is gone in traveling especially in a metro.
