After about two weeks of hard work and preparation, we’ve finally made it to Germany. Good food, pretty nice public transportation, *mostly* friendly people, but bad weather. I think we must have came in the worse time of the year. Everything is grey, rainy and dark. The fall leaves are beautiful, but that’s only if the sun is up, and that’s pretty rare during fall. Nevertheless, I’m grateful to be here.

We arrived at Frankfurt Airport in the morning at around 7 am. It was everyone’s first time in Germany, so finding our way through the confusing public transportation to get to our BnB in Köln was pretty challenging. We had a lot of very heavy bags. We also missed a train, making us having to wait another 30 minutes for the next train to take us to Köln Central Station. On that long-awaited train, however, we were awarded nice views of the beautiful German countryside while in the train. It was a pleasant journey. When we got home, everybody was exhausted and hungry. Our host welcomed us warmly. We have a big house in Cologne but we’re only allowed to use about 50% of the space. Pretty sad that space doesn’t include the music room, but otherwise, it’s nice, cosy and big.

The next day, we performed at the Conference of Youth 13. We gathered a crowd by doing a Balinese Kecak Dance and managed to have a decent crowd and good laughs. It was our debut performance in Germany and it went well. At the conference, we mingled, join workshops and made new contacts. Amazing workshops and amazing people. The conference was full of like-minded people, trying to make a difference and start small to make a big difference.

Germany has been an amazing experience so far and looking forward to days to come!
