Week 1 for GSoC is now completed and I have completed the task as per the timeline one day before the completion time as given in the proposal.

Week 1 basically for me is a learning week. In this week, I have gone through the project structure. I have explored the docs, tests, style guides, etc of the software. I got to know the flow of the application of the software by practically implementing it. I have also explored the jQuery, D3.js and Dagre-d3 libraries.

The summary of the tasks for week 1 is as follows:

  • Setting-up and deployment of the application.
  • Creating branch for development and test commit.
  • Upgrade of jQuery library and removal of deprecated functions.
  • Addition of Style Guide for HTML/CSS/Javascript for Report Template as per Google’s Style guide.
  • Upgrade of D3.js and Dagre-D3 libraries.
  • Replacement of deprecated methods/functions.
  • Formatted HTML/CSS/Javascript files of Report Template as per Google’s Style and coding guidelines.

On Saturday, I have submitted the report of week-1 to my mentor and he gave a good response. It’s a good going in the Journey of Code “GSoc’18” for me. And I enjoyed a lot working at home.

Stay tuned for next blog!
