So, we are half way through GSoC’17. I successfully passed my first evaluations 10 days back, received my first stipend and then took a small break from GSoC and delved into learning some other stuffs like mobile app development using Ionic framework. I’ll talk about this stuff at a different place later on.

In the meanwhile, two of my Pull Requests got merged into the codebase.
1. Replacing Smarty Template Engine :: The purpose of this PR was to replace Smarty from existing Controller classes and Templates. This PR removes Smarty from most places in application except GACL Section and Prescription.
2. UI Upgrade in Settings and Patient Finder :: Through this, I started upgrading the UI of the application.

I also opened up a PR this morning for removing Smarty from Prescription Controllers and Templates. I started working over UI of the application and so far I’ve upgraded Practice Settings, Facilities, Address-Book. For the next couple of weeks I’ll mostly be working over UI . I’ll also be learning Ionic in depth side by side, as I really find it to be quite interesting.

This is the thread which I am using to discuss UI improvements ::

So, quite a good part of my work is completed and I’ll be trying to complete the most part by first week of August when my college re-opens.

This concludes the updates for this week.

Thanks for reading! Will keep the blog posted with more updates!!
