From pre-school to college graduation, we spend ¼ of our lives building up the knowledge and skills that will prepare us for the workforce and to shape the future. But until very recently, access to knowledge was reserved for the few, and without it, career options were severely limited. The most transformative change of our lifetime is happening today as anyone, anywhere can access knowledge and acquire new skills at any time, producing a new stream of qualified candidates to fill highly-skilled jobs that companies struggle to fill. We know that companies who invest in talent, and in the candidate experience during the hiring process, are able to hire better and faster, fill more roles, and spend less time on tasks that can be automated.

At GSV, we get up every day to invest in innovative companies and entrepreneurs that are transforming the way people learn and work. From our early support of disruptive human capital companies like Taleo to more recent investments in Pluralsight, Coursera, Degreed, Andela, and Voxy, we believe that education, learning and work are stops along the same journey. That’s why in addition to innovation in education, we invest in companies that improve talent acquisition and human capital management.

Today we’re happy to announce a new investment in Goodtime, a company that uses natural language processing to automate scheduling and connect candidates and interviewers for a more personalized, streamlined interview process.

At companies such as Airbnb and Dropbox, we’ve seen time-to-hire rates reduced by 40 percent using Goodtime. Recruiters no longer waste valuable hours scheduling interviews. Instead they can spend time on more meaningful work that still requires a human touch.

Goodtime has already become an essential tool for recruiters at companies such as Stripe, Thumbtack, and LiveRamp — but the team has much broader ambitions to improve the employee and candidate experience with elegant yet simple solutions that automate talent logistics at scale.

In just a few months we’ve gotten to know the incredibly talented team leading GoodTime, and we can’t wait to see what they do next! You can read more about Goodtime’s mission here.
