We’ve all come across people who tell us that business is a constant engagement; but when in practice, we get to understand this better than ever. Staying connected can be a challenge if effective strategies are not in place; however, focus on communication methods a little and you’ll find yourself on the path to success. But the thing about communication is that you need to be able to use the right tool for the right kind of message. One of these tools that manage to tick a lot of checkboxes, is our good old pal — the video!

As a medium that connects with the audience using audio and visuals, the Video has been there with us for a long time, but not too many people have exploited it to its potential. In fact, one may even dare to say that video has just about reached its nascent stage. So let’s jump in and see how we can exploit the power of video for your brand this Holiday Season. Here’re five examples:

1) Season’s Greetings — Take this opportunity to wish your customers, suppliers, vendors, stakeholders and everyone in your community. The more personalised you make these videos, the more special they get. Not to mention the good wishes and closer relationships you will share because you secretly made your way into their hearts. Remember to show true humility — regardless of how you choose to position yourself.

2) Tell me ‘Why’ — Everyone who deals with your brand knows WHAT you make and offer to your customers. Some may even know HOW you do it — using a combination of robust tech, a well-planned supply chain and a strapping business model. Kudos to you on that! But people would rather know WHY. Why is it important for you to offer what you do to customers? Why is it that you’re a player in this particular industry? Why are you making things in a certain way and not any other way? Cisco projects that global internet traffic from videos will make up 82% of all consumer internet traffic by 2021. Imagine If they are able to say WHY — in their own terms, the brand gains complete credibility in the eyes of the viewer. The message that you will send them is that you’re in the long haul for a good reason, you know your methods and you have your ways.

3) Talk the talk — A good way of subtly getting into the psyche of your audience is by telling them in simple ways about the many fascinating things of your industry. Don’t wait for an interview to happen — make it happen by yourself by sharing bite-sized content on a regular basis. 51% of B2B marketers prioritize creating visual assets as part of their content marketing strategy. Tell them about what influences your industry, maybe a little history or share an anecdote; you’ll be surprised to see how many people will keep wanting more!

4) (How to)Train your dragons — Giving your fellow worker a pile of books, manuals or certified course material is all great. But what about the real deal? Life is supposed to be fun and exciting, and helping your fellow human have fun is even more fun. 70% of YouTube viewers watch videos for “help with a problem” they’re having. Use this opportunity to hire experts that can make your training videos solid in terms of content, yet fun in their approach. Your employees give you their lives; it’s the least you could do!

5) Study Buddy — We’d all like to show a case-study-based example of how we solved a problem for a client — and that’s great! There’s nothing better to tell people that your brand and its solutions actually work; and measurably so. But have you tried the same over a video? Think about it: the problem, your spokesperson and your client — all in one amazing video that makes for one great story. (Believe us, you’ll thank us for this one).

Whatever your reason may be, a simple video speaks volumes on what you’d like to say. It’s also what the cool kids are doing. With everyone glued to their smartphones, a video is about one of the smartest things your brand could do to connect to your audience.

Say it smart, say it loud and say it over video!!
