Opening Guesser to the public — Introducing Bet of the Week
Predict the most awarded movie at the Oscars!
Guesser is hosting the only market in the world where you can predict which movie wins the most Academy Awards this Sunday. Check it out!
For the time being, Guesser has only been open to the first 1,000 early signups. This was a cool experience, as we’ve been able to talk to those first hundreds of users that mean so much for our future, and from whom we love to learn what works, what sucks, what would be good to see on the product.
Today, we’ve opened Guesser to those who had not signed up before. Anyone that visits the website from outside the U.S. can now invest in the outcome of real world events with 3 clicks.
Bet of the Week
Many markets on Augur are long term markets. They are about events that will happen in weeks, months, and sometimes years. These events are cool, and our users are enjoying betting on those that we have listed, but we feel like adding some extra action to that.
Starting this week, we’re introducing Bet of the Week: events that will only be available for 1 week, and which will enjoy extra liquidity from us if necessary so that no one that wants to participate gets left out.
Bet of the Week #1: The Oscars 🎬
To kick off, we challenge you to predict The Oscars, a ceremony taking place Sunday 24, at 5pm (PST).
- Most Awards: which movie will receive with the highest number of Oscars? You can now predict which movie will win the most Academy Awards throughout the night, and the odds are super attractive!
No other betting website that we know of (whether based on crypto or fiat) is hosting this market, which has been created on Augur.
The challenge: Guesser’s Hall of Fame
If you reply to the tweet below with your prediction for the Oscars and you’re right, your Twitter handle be featured in our Oscars Hall of Fame page! We also encourage you to challenge a friend, as it will be more fun seeing who’s best at this if everyone puts some skin in the game.
