Over the past couple years the platform has grown and improved. We have expanded our features and supported devices, given you more control, customisability and revitalised the interface every chance we have had. And probably most importantly, along the way we have helped numerous people manage their WiFi connections and devices, from home to business users.

So why is Cucumber such a good fit for everyone from home and hobby users, to people relying on it for their business? The best way to answer this is to look at how people are using our dashboard.

Home and Hobbyists

A lot of our customers are home and hobbyist users. The kind of people who have signed up to manage a couple access points and take advantage of the quality of life features that Cucumber offer that their hardware manufacturer does not provide.

One user mentioned that they use Cucumber simply because they can enable a specific feature they need for their network at the click of a button, rather than the complicated and lengthy setup of fields and inputs that their original hardware wanted them to struggle through.

Others join in wanting to try out something new, and thanks to our in depth documentation they can explore all of the cool things they can do. They don’t mind so much about the quality of life features, but want to take better advantage of the hardware they paid money for, and not be restricted to the controlled feature set by the manufacturer.

Businesses and the Enterprise

On the other end of the scale, there are the business and enterprise users. These are the kind of people who sign up looking to make use of Cucumber to improve their business, and ultimately make some money. From chains of coffee shops and libraries to service providers and manufacturers, we have a lot of happy customers for a lot of different reasons.

Rather than listing all the features our customers use (we might be here a while), here is a quick glimpse at some of the things our customers have highlighted themselves:

“I can’t think of one thing I liked in Meraki that I didn’t get in Cucumber for a fraction of the price.” — Vospers

“Where some of the libraries are located, they don’t always have phone signal. Being able to chat [online] to someone and get our problems resolved quickly is very helpful.” — Suffolk Libraries

“It not only provides us with a great, centralised place to manage all of our client environments but also benefits our clients by removing the need for on-site controllers and providing advanced functionality such as social login and effective captive portal facilities.” — Vital Technology Group

“Cucumber gives us point and shoot deployment, control over the network and a front end that we can present to customers. All in one solution.” — RDS Global

“It’s IT and things do go wrong so I like being able to speak to the support team. They’re really helpful and will fix something for me on the spot if they can.” — Exmoor National Park
