Guesto — Self Check-in & Name Badge Printing App

Events, meetups and seminars have become a great marketing channel for businesses as they provide face-to-face interaction with potential customers. This personal touch establishes a sense of trust which enables communication, brand exposure, sales, personal interaction, networking and engagement.

Platforms like Eventbrite and Meetup have made it super easy to host events. But with that, comes the difficulty in marketing your event, as you now have significant competition. How do you stand out among these myriad of events? Three pillars to focus on: content, brand and the guest experience.

At Sembian, we have embarked on a mission to help you out with the last pillar — the guest experience. We want your guests to have a great experience right from the moment they check-in to the moment they check-out of your event. As a first step, we are introducing Guesto app for managing check-ins and collecting feedbacks at events.

What is Guesto?

Guesto is an app for managing check-ins, issuing name badges and collecting feedback. It uses an iPad to manage check-ins and feedbacks, and, a wireless label printer to generate beautiful name badges.

We believe we have built a great tool for what seems to be a trivial but laborious task of managing check-ins, printing name badges and collecting feedback at events, and, this is only the first step in our mission to provide a great experience for your guests.

What does Guesto offer?

1. Super easy import of events and guest list:

By linking your Eventbrite account with Guesto: You can link your Eventbrite account with Guesto to import your events and guest list in no time. All attendee information including the ticket type they purchased and the custom questions they answered will be imported. You can choose what should appear on a name badge.

By importing your guest list via Dropbox: Eventbrite is a great tool for managing events but if you are not using it — no worries, just download your guest list as a CSV file from the ticketing platform and drop it in your Dropbox for easy import. Obviously, for this to work, you would need to link your Dropbox account with Guesto. Dropbox is free to use for up to 2GB of storage.

2. Super fast check-ins without an operator:

With Guesto you don’t need an operator to check-in your guests. Your guests self check-in using the following two modes set by you:

Search mode: This mode can be used for checking-in guests if your ticketing platform does not issue a ticket with a barcode or QR code. Your guests check-in by searching for their name and tapping their name.

Barcode mode: You guessed it, your guests use their barcode or QR code present in the ticket for check-in.

It takes less than ten seconds to check-in a guest. Both modes allow un-registered guests to be registered and checked-in.

3. Effortless name badges:

If you have prepared name badges before, you know how painful it is to prepare them. You had to download the guest list, mail merge in Microsoft Word, print them on Avery label sheets, cut them and then insert them into name badge holders. With Guesto you can start printing beautiful name badges on-demand within a couple of minutes.

You just need to link Guesto with a compatible label printer and select a name badge template. A name badge will be automatically printed when your guest checks-in. You can also create custom name badges.

Offline printing: You may also print all your name badges ahead of your event with a tap of a button and use Guesto on-demand name badge printing just for additional registrations and modifications.

Barcodes: Add barcodes or QR codes to your name badges for lead retrieval. You can also add QR codes with vCard information to facilitate quick contact sharing between attendees.

4. Feedback collection during the event:

Collecting feedback is an essential part of planning and executing a successful event. Unfortunately lot of businesses collect feedback only after the event but opening up feedback channels during the event can boost event success. Collecting feedback in real-time, while everything is happening, helps you keep a live pulse on your event. By implementing instant feedback channels, you can immediately respond to any needs or crises, and improve the event experience at a moment’s notice.

Again Guesto provides pre-built templates for you to get started quickly but you could also create custom feedback templates. The following five types of answers are supported: a) Single line text b) Paragraph text c) Stars d) Emotions and e) Multiple choice.
