While a broad approach is key to covering as many channels for your property as possible, it’s also important to dive deep into each channel we connect to, to ensure you get the most out of the connection in order to drive efficiency in your hosting and property management operations.

In the past month, we have released 15 updates and new features to drive a more robust Airbnb connection and expand our channel offering.

1. Export your GuestBook calendar to any channel in order to block availability with iCal.

Now from your property settings dashboard you can click on more actions and you’ll find an iCal export function which will allow you to copy the iCal link from our calendar and use it to block any other channel calendar you’re connected to. Even if it’s not connected to GuestBook directly. Sync intervals depend on how frequently the specific channel you’re connected to polls the iCal service and updates their calendar. We suggest checking directly with the channel to find out timing.

This is an important feature as it will give you the power to block dates on other calendars universally.

2. 14 Improvements to stabilize and improve our Airbnb connection.

  • Real-time reservation importing — In most cases, reservations will import from Airbnb immediately and will sync to your reservations manager within 20 minutes maximum. This does not include your first sync when setting up your account.
  • Bug Solved: We’ve solved the issue of guest phone numbers syncing from Airbnb in an improper format.
  • If a you create a direct reservation on GuestBook, that reservation will properly sync to Airbnb and block the calendar availability so no additional reservations can be made.
  • If you have a direct reservation on the GuestBook calendar, and you change / reduce the dates, the newly available dates will properly reflect on the Airbnb Calendar.
  • If you disconnect your property from Airbnb, any Airbnb reservations will remain on the calendar.
  • If you remove the GuestBook app inside of your Airbnb account, you’ll now be notified via email of this change to ensure it was not a mistake and safeguard you from any unauthorized account activity.
  • If you block dates from the GuestBook Multicalendar, those dates will be blocked on the Airbnb calendar as well.
  • If you update your rates on the GuestBook Multicalendar, those rates will update and be properly reflected on the Airbnb Calendar as well.
  • If you have base rates in place on the GuestBook calendar, and you override those rates with “Special Rates” for a given date range, those rates will update and reflect properly on Airbnb.
  • Bug Solved. We have verified and stabilized our Airbnb refresh token to ensure your connection remains in-tact, unless you manually break the connection.
  • If you’re connected to HomeAway and GuestBook imports a HomeAway reservation, the dates will be properly blocked on your Airbnb Calendar as well.
  • If you have blocked dates on your Airbnb Calendar, those dates will properly import to the GuestBook calendar as well. Please note that Airbnb does not sync dates that are blocked by another iCal service. This is only related to manually blocked dates. Dates blocked by iCal services will by wiped out when you connect to GuestBook, as GuestBook becomes the “master” of the schedule.
  • Bug Solved: Reservations canceled on Airbnb are now appropriately moving to the “Canceled Reservations” section in your Reservations Manager.
  • We are now importing and syncing up to 12 months of rates data from Airbnb.
