Introduction
GuildFi recently concluded a record breaking Token Launch Auction (TLA) on Copperlaunch, which we want to thank our community members again for the overwhelming support. For our token holders that believe in our project long term, we want to ensure that your $GF tokens earn for you while you hold them. We believe we are doing just that by announcing the staking program for $GF tokens.
Our staking program will give every token holder the ability to earn even more $GF tokens by simply depositing their tokens in the relevant staking pools. We have consciously made it as simple as possible for everyone to earn more $GF by simply depositing the tokens into their respective vaults. In this blog post, we aim to outline the explicit staking process as well as what you will receive by staking your $GF tokens.
Staking Program Highlights
We’ve always envisioned rewarding our most loyal token holders with as much as possible. Therefore, this idea will be reflected in our staking rewards as well. The rewards will be time-weighted, ultimately meaning that the longer an individual stakes their $GF tokens, the higher Annual Percentage Rate (APR) they will receive.
- For the first year, the staking program for $GF token will see 6% of the entire $GF token supply provided as staking rewards. This effectively means a maximum of 5 million tokens per month.
- Instead of splitting some of the reward budget to liquidity pools and exposing our investors to impermanent loss, we focus the entire rewards to a single-sided $GF pool where long-term holders can earn confidently via our staking program.
- Stakers will have the ability to select their Time-Weighted options, which depends on how long they aim to lock their staked $GF tokens for. .
- Locked staking implies that there is a certain period that the $GF tokens must be locked, where stakers are able to select from the different options available. The longer the staking period, the higher the APR.
- Stakers are able to select from a range of 2 to 52 weeks, where weighting varies linearly
- All rewards garnered from staking the $GF token will be vested for a period of three months.
- GuildFi staking will be live from the 20th of December 2021.
Time-Weighted Options
Here’s an example of how we aim to achieve the different options of staking in a time-weighted manner. Users will be able to stake their GF tokens for a variety of time periods based on their discretion, ranging from 2 to 52 weeks. The weighting will also vary linearly, where GF tokens staked for 2 weeks will gather a weighting of 1, while GF tokens staked for 52 weeks will gather a weighting of 2.
We believe this time-weighted format will allow us to recognise and reward the most loyal of our community members while at the same time still rewarding early community members who may not want to lock in their $GF tokens for a long period of time. This way, every token holder wins.
Be Early, Earn More
If you are reading this, chances are you will be part of an exclusive group of token holders that will earn the highest APR from staking the $GF tokens. This is because we want to reward our early community members as much as possible. Therefore, the first year staking rewards will most likely be the highest. For the years that follow, there will be a reevaluation and there will likely be changes to the APR rewarded for the staking of $GF tokens. This will be announced in due course.

Note that this is just the start of our rewards program more broadly. In addition to the GF staking rewards, there will also be several other benefits for staker from all of GuildFi’s partnerships with different games such as Nyan Heroes or Sipher. These additional perks will be rerouted through the GuildFi ecosystem, further accruing value to the GF token.
