Van Halen’s classic lineup consisted of some of the most iconic figures in rock history. The band is centered around the Van Halen brothers — Alex on drums and Eddie on guitar — who are both phenomenal musicians. Michael Anthony was on bass. David Lee Roth was the frontman from the early days until he left in 1985 to pursue a solo career. At that point, ex-Montrose frontman Sammy Hagar gave up his own successful solo career to join the group.
