UI Designer. Mechanical Engineer. And Life Explorer.
Hello,
I am an aspirant graphic & UI designer rooted with knowledge of engineering. All my life endeavors point out the common fact, that, I like to create. And it is mt strong creativity allows me to come up with everything from well-thought designs to well-written and impactful messages that catch and hold the attention of readers.
My work has also included designing mobile app UI, websites, logo & branding, mass mails, brochures and putting on presentations at conferences for clients. I know how to showcase a company’s offerings to attract new business. To successfully manage projects, I set goals for myself and break tasks down into small steps of accomplishments. I always tried to create something out of whatever I could find in my limits.
My favorite and most cherished activity is to design and prototype Applications for mobile, desktop, web, TV, watch or anywhere.
I started designing at an early age. My early attempts were naive but not futile. I have learned from my mistakes ever since. I was introduced to the world of digital designing at a later stage when my understanding of the concept was much clearer and straight-forward. My design-forte is professionalism. My capabilities run parallel to the professional and classic aspirations of my clients and I understand the concept and dire requirement of confidentiality in my work.
Although, I didn't learn my true passion of protoyping at first. In high school, I started with sketching 3D cars (link here). I was almost sure that that is what I want and in some turn-of-events, I ended up pusuing bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering in BITS Pilani (in hopes of entering automobile industry). Even if I didn’t care much for actual engineering, I was gettting pretty good in 2D/3D CAD. I could build up plans and 3D Models of almost anything and that was the most fun part of all engineering for me.
As they say, college years are time for experiments. So I did experiment, with my art. I took up small jobs in college to design posters, banners, newspaper advertisements, social media posts, magazines, brochures, pamphlets and even websites. I was enjoying and learning new things every day. And step-by-step, I made my way towards mobile app prototyping.
I did multiple internships in Design & Software firms to understand myself better and boy, I did. I learnt how to work in a professional manner. I learnt how to bring out what’s inside my head on to the canvas. I learnt how to communicate with and understand the client’s needs.
That’s my short story of why I am where I am today.
About Me, Personally.
I am a 22 year old intovert.
I enjoy Creative Writing, Public Speaking, Tinkering with Coding, Swimming, Cycling, TV shows, Movies, Music and Racing Games. My favorite TV shows have to be Last Week Tonight, Westworld, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Family Guy and a long list of Anime.
I can communicated in English, Hindi and French (though it’s limited).
This one is a no-brainer; I know how to use softwares like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Muse, Adobe Illustrator, AdobeInDesign; Bohemian Coding Sketch (my favorite for UI design); AutoDesk AutoCAD; 3DS CATIA, ANSYS, Google SketchUp and many more. I do try to keep learning new ones.
And I don’t know if it helps or not, but I scored 318/340 in GRE Genereal Test (November 2015) and graduated BITS Pilani with B.E. (Hons.) Mechanical — First Division.
