Year 1 GURLS 2019 Service Projects
GURLS Year 1 focuses on the theme: Inspire. Participants learn how everyone has a unique leadership style and there are many different types of leadership roles one can take in Ultimate: a captain, coach, organizer, mediator, and project manager.
The program’s core values of generosity, unity, resilience and leadership are threaded throughout the GURLS Year 1 curriculum from the very first lesson. GURLS Year 1 emphasizes individuality as it applies to learning, teaching and coaching styles; mediation and conflict resolution; developing strong communication and listening skills; increasing confidence; not being afraid to make mistakes; and honoring oneself and one’s teammates.
