How to contribute to the crowdsale of the GET-protocol
The general crowdsale of the GET-protocol will commence on November the 15th at 13:00 CET.
Don’t use an exchange wallet to contribute to the ICO!
Considered an exchange: Bittrex, Kraken, Poloniex, blockchain.info, Bitfinex, Exodus, Jaxx, CEX.io, Coinomy and many many more! Make sure you as user fully control your private key. Sending a contribution from an exchange can result in loss of funds! Both ETH as well as the acquired GET can be lost when you do this. In most cases there is little to none we can do for you when you have sent funds from the exchange, as the problem does not lie on our side. The problem lies at the side of the exchange wallet. Please let us know if you have any questions or doubts regarding this!
In order to be able to contribute we want to make sure you know how to do it. It is very important to know that you need a wallet that is smart contract compatible. This blog post explains how to use the services we recommend you to use: MyEtherWallet, Mist, Parity and MetaMask.
Essential details
- DO NOT send funds from exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, Bitfinex and many more. Be sure you have control over the private key of the wallet you are sending from. It’s recommended you use any of the methods explained in this post.
- DO NOT send your funds before the crowdsale has begun: Nov. 15 1PM CET 2017.
- Set the Gas Limit at 250,000.
- Set the Gas Price at 21 gwei.
- The GET token will be sent immediately to the wallet from which the contribution has been sent.
- By participating in this crowdsale you agree to the terms of exchange and confirm that you are not a citizen of the USA.
Important:
- Do NOT send ETH before the crowdsale has started.
- Do NOT use exchange services to attempt to purchase GET.
MyEtherWallet
MyEtherWallet is a widely used and in our experience reliable service that can be used to send ETH to the crowdsale. If you don’t have a wallet at MyEtherWallet, you can quickly set it up with this guide.
In order to use it correctly, please follow these steps:
2. Select the tab “Send Ether & Tokens”.
3. Select the option “Keystore File (UTC / JSON)”, select your wallet file, enter your password and login to your account.
4. Make sure you copy the contribution address you find through our ICO application and paste it in the “Recipient Address” field.
5. Select the amount of ETH you would like to contribute and click “Generate Transaction”. Note that when contributing through MyEtherWallet, the Gas Limit will be set automatically. You should set the Gas limit at 250,000.
Once you complete this process successfully, your contribution will be sent to our contract. You can check whether your contribution went through on Etherscan.
Mist
You can also use the Mist application. Want to learn which steps to follow in order to install Mist, check this article. If you have Mist already installed, here are the steps to follow in order to successfully participate and contribute to our crowdsale.
- Open the Mist application
- Go to the “Send” tab in the options
- Make sure you copy the contribution address you find through our ICO application and paste it in the “To:” field
- Enter the amount of ETH you would like to contribute
- Set the fee at the faster end of the bar
- Click “Send”
- You will be shown a summary of the transaction — note that the contribution has not yet been sent.
- Enter your password again and click “Send Transaction”
Parity
For those of you that would like to participate in the crowdsale of the GET-protocol using Parity, visit this page to download and install it on your computer and then follow these steps:
- Open the Parity application
- Open the “Accounts” tab and select the account you would like to transfer funds from
- Click “Transfer”
- Make sure you copy the contribution address you find through our ICO application and paste it in the “Recipient Address” section
- Select the ETH amount
- Check the “advanced sending options” box
- Click “Next”
- Enter 250,000 in the “Gas” field
- Click “Send”
- Confirm the transaction by entering your password
MetaMask
MetaMask is an easy-to-use add-on that enables you to send tokens easily and securely. Would you like to use the MetaMask add-on and want to know how? Follow this how to get started with MetaMask guide. Once MetaMask is installed, take the next steps to contribute:
- Click on the add-on icon in your browser
- Click “Send”
- Make sure you copy the contribution address you find through our ICO application and paste it in the “Recipient Address” field
- Enter the amount of ETH you want to send
- Click “Send” and you are done!
