Hollow holds are an amazing exercise for your abs that can be used to develop a very strong and stable core. This gymnastic inspired exercise will give better core stability and control to withstand heavier loads, resist rotational forces on the spine keeping you less prone to injury, and will transfer over amazingly to movements like squat, pulls, presses, and explosive movements. If you want rock hard, flatter and more defined abs…do these!

How to do it:

  1. Lie facing upwards with your arms overhead and legs off the floor. Flatten out your lower back so there’s no gap between the floor and your low back.
  2. Gradually lower the arms and feet toward the floor while maintaining this position.
  3. Hold this position for time and continue to push the low back into the floor throughout the duration of the set.
