What is Gyroscope Protocol?
In case you’ve been too busy with your lockdown project and missed it, Gyroscope Protocol is an all-weather stablecoin built for DeFi power users who want the best decentralized stability. Gyroscope combines three primary innovations:
- It is built to be all-weather, backed by a reserve that stratifies all DeFi risks, including centralization, regulatory, governance, and composability risks, not just price risk.
- Gyroscope boosts liquidity in a sound and revolutionary way using newly designed automated market makers (AMMs). Gyro’s S-AMM/P-AMM combination makes Gyroscope the most liquid and scalable decentralized stablecoin ever designed.
- Gyroscope reinvents sound governance with Conditional Cashflows and Optimistic Approval.
We have ambitious plans, and we in DeFi deserve a more resilient crypto-native money. Something built not for 5 months… but 5 decades. We’ve developed Gyroscope to fill this gap after having developed much of the foundational research charting DeFi risks.

How to play Gyrosoft All-Weather Simulator?
- Start date: the first level will be announced on April 5 (now up here!).
- Duration: The game will proceed over the next two months, as we gear up for the next deployment.
- Gameplay: The game will pit users against various threats to test the protocol design and the resilience of the Gyroscope system. An array of simulated attacks and crashes will represent different levels. For instance, speculative attacks, governance attacks, and composability cascades may play a hand.
- Where: on the Gyroscope alpha testnet (no prohibitive gas fees!)
- What’s in it for you: Game participants will earn badges in the protocol for completing levels.
Please treat your testnet address with care, as you would a mainnet address. Final awards will be distributed once per user and not per address.
Gyroscope is about empowering the community to govern their own money and provides new mechanisms to make this work. Gyrosoft All-Weather Simulator is a fun chance for you to sit in the driver’s seat in a live testing of the protocol and to start playing a continuing role in Gyroscope.
