Maria Laura Albini: choosing a career path
Meet Maria Laura Albini, a professional with over 20 years of experience in Sales & Marketing for leading consulting companies and international corporations. But that’s not all — she’s also an angel investor in the digital startup world and a startupper herself! We had the privilege and honour of interviewing her on our college’s radio, where she shared some valuable insights that left a lasting impact on us.
When asked about her thoughts on our college and its students, Laura replied, “I like coming to H-farm, I like seeing bright and innovative pupils”. We were curious to know if she was acquainted with our founder, and she didn’t disappoint us by answering, “Donadon and I go way back to Yoox”.
Throughout the interview, Laura gave us a refreshing and interesting insight into her beliefs. “I want to be the opportunity and support system to the ever-growing and innovative minds of students, like I once had when I was growing up. I want to focus on empowering female leadership and equality in the consulting world, since it’s not the easiest of jobs. I hope to be a mentor to young minds, because teaching is a big responsibility but giving a life lesson falls on an entirely different world and I believe having someone who gives insightful opinions is always a bonus”.
We also got to know about her childhood and how she got involved in the field of sports. Laura worked as Head of CRM and Venue Marketing, Marketing Director, and Global Business Development Director in Inter between 2015 and 2019. She shared that sports had a great impact on her life. Her parents always supported her in every step and every sport she undertook, pushing her to do something new and out of her comfort zone. Laura connected each of her main values with the sports she took part in. For instance, swimming taught her to be resilient, tennis to take hits left and right, and skiing taught her never to give up.
Finally, Laura gave us some great advice on how to choose a career path. “Choose something that drives you, captures and peaks your curiosity, try everything — the new and the old, fall and get back up, never give up,” she said.
