Holo Token Sale: Whitelist First
Excitement is in the air! Our token sale opens today, 9 January! Everyone at Holo pitches in for the final adjustments before the sale. What a flurry of activity!
So here is what you need to know. We will be using a whitelisting process to verify our participants in our ICO, and those whitelisted will be written into our contracts for participation.

White List
We have deeply committed to approaching our ICO with rigor. Thus we will be whitelisting our community members to be sure we are legally and financially responsible. We will not be offering our ICO in countries where it is illegal or legally risky including the US, China, and South Korea.
Successful acceptance to the whitelist will enable you to contribute ETH in the Holo sale, within the limits of our terms. Whitelist approved participants will be able to contribute ETH after opening 10 a.m. GMT on 29 March, 2018.
Holo Whitelist Application Process
The whitelist application process will start at 12:00 GMT on 9 January. It goes like this (a more detailed process is available at our support site):
- Go to https://verify.holo.host.
- There you can read privacy policy and terms of service before starting the verification process.
- To be whitelisted, you must verify your identity. We will ask for a live photo of you and your passport. Once you submitted name, document, document number and these two photos along with you contribution address, then you will be written into our contracts.
- If your computer doesn’t have a working webcam: Click the “Start verification with mobile app” button to begin verification using your smartphone. You’ll be instructed to install the Agrello KYC app on your mobile device. You can download it from the Apple App Store or Android Play Store. Then you’ll need to scan the QR-code shown on the page using the Agrello KYC app. You can also input the shortcode manually. Once the sessions are linked, follow the instructions on your mobile device to submit your identity verification application.
- You will find out whether your application was successful or not by email.
- After being verified and written to our contacts, you can participate by sending ETH to our wallet when the sale opens.
- Please note: we will not send any kind of contribution address by email. If you receive any emails mentioning a contribution address it is a SCAM.

Holo Sale Process
The whitelist submission process, as stated previously, will start on 9 January before the token sale at 10 a.m. GMT on 29 March, 2018. If you were a successful whitelist applicant, you will then be able to send in the amount you specified in exchange for Holo Tokens after launch. Please note the following:
- We only have a limited supply of tokens and any transaction that would buy more tokens then available will fail. Token supply is calculated from the performance of our crowd funding campaign and will be shown on https://ico.holo.host. The supply is being updated once every day at 10am GMT. If we are sold out for a certain day, there might be more supply the day after. Check back!
- In order to guarantee distribution of tokens across our community, we limit the amount that any one address can buy to 10% of that day’s supply. Since every address needs to be whitelisted and connected to a verified identity, no single person can buy up more than 10% of a given day’s supply.
- So, if your transaction fails please check and maybe decrease the amount of sent ETH, according to the stats you find on https://ico.holo.host. Or check the next day.
- The contribution address will be available at https://ico.holo.host when the ICO starts. It will also be posted in the Announcements channel on our public chat server, and will be registered on Ethereum Name Service. Please make sure you type in the link address yourself to avoid any kind of phishing attacks. Also, please validate the address from MULTIPLE sources.
- We will not send any contribution addresses by email or on our public chatrooms (except for the Announcements channel); it will only ever be shown on https://ico.holo.host.
Other Updates
We note that from our original crowd sale details published in December, we have now added this whitelisting process to ensure responsibility with the ICO. Note also these details:
- The sale starts on 9 January at 12:00 UTC with a whitelisting process.
- Tokens will be available for whitelisted participants opening 10 a.m. GMT on 29 March, 2018.
- The sale ends on 28 March, 2018 at 10:00 GMT.
- Tokens will be non transferable until shortly after the sale closes. We hope the tokens will be listed on exchanges soon after the close of the sale.

Edit: an earlier version of this post included the driver’s license option. In practice, they need to be the last choice, because they often fail verification process. It is best to use a passport. So that option was removed from this post. Also, minor edits for clarification.
