The Holochain Community chatting together in Liechtenstein.

Hello Holo Chat! Welcome. As we launch Holo and invite you into our community, we begin #HoloChats, a distributed conversation! Each of our weekly topics include philosophical inquiry into the nature of the theme as well as business and technical applications around the theme.

To participate, include #Holochats and #theme tags.

Holochats have several steps for a distributed exploration of themes:

  1. A blog post stating the #theme for the week posing questions, creating shared context, and considerations up for debate.
  2. An interview around the theme {and we encourage you to do so as well!}
  3. You join in with your own blog, video, and links (new or pre-existing) using the tags #holochats and #theme to be included in the distributed dialogue!
  4. Collectively our wisdom together can emerge. Each week we can collect together the juicy evolution of responses to the theme and share back through the tags, repost on our medium, and share our favorite insights.

We hope you join in! This is about distributed awareness and growing our collective intelligence together!

This first week our theme is #EthicalComputing because at the very root of Holo and Holochain is a design for humans as humans. In contrast to other organizations, the ethical backbone of Holo and Holochain is what stands out the most, for we are committed to being agent-centric. At our deepest roots Holo is about putting technology in service to humans and our activity and relationships.

Current issues in Ethical Computing are:

  • Philosophical: what it is to be human, to be a machine, to have code that serves humans and what structures work best? Why is ethical computing emerging as a new paradigm of computation?
  • Entrepreneurial: just what is profitable in an ethical computing environment and how can business push/pull the ethics?
  • Technical: might focus on the ability to implement or the complexity of ethical system design? What is it about peer-to-peer connections that implies ethical computing as a paradigm?

Post your own interviews, blog posts, and other content with the #Holochats #EthicalComputing tags so we can learn from and with you!

Everything is linked for this week by #HoloChats #EthicalComputing.
