Monthly Roundup for Holo & Holochain
Welcome to our first edition of the Monthly Roundup for Holo & Holochain! If you were waiting to see what was going on in February at Holo and Holochain — the wait is over! Let’s dive straight in.
Last month we were quite busy working to fix bugs and getting the first HoloPort testers on the closed alpha network. At the same time, we have been continuously working with and supporting our community of developers in their journey to build hApps! Not to mention the great advances on the Holochain network where we’ve passed 5000 Nodes stress test! Approval of the CAL (Cryptographic Autonomy License) by the Open Source Foundation was a highlight of the last 2 weeks!
Integration Efforts & 5000 Nodes
“Our goal since August has been to make Holochain fast enough to support 5000 busy instances operating simultaneously in one app. This week, we finally reached that number with a stress-test app!”

Community Takes the Ball and Runs with It
The first community organized and hosted Dev Camp completed and was an amazing success in both quantitative and qualitative terms. The Cryptographic Autonomy Licence that we’ve supported for months is now officially an OSI open-source license that protects end-users from having their data held hostage! And the latest version of Holochain has been released as we continue measuring and tuning performance.

CAL — The Cryptographic Autonomy License (CAL) has been approved!
“People realize that today, they are not in control of their identities and user data on existing web-based platforms,” says Lindberg. “The CAL changes that. It is the first open source license that recognizes that a user’s data and identity are directly tied to how the software works.” Read the full PR here.
Here is a short article where you can find out why CAL is important to the end user.
Watch our latest AMA no 35 where the executive team answers questions from the community. This AMA introduces our new Roadmap— it’s the one to watch!
You can find our new Roadmap here.
Our community and events team is working tirelessly to bring people together and create amazing things on Holochain. As always, we would like to give our appreciation to all the community organisers without whom it would be not possible to create this magic!
Here are few things that we want to shout about:
Our last Dev Camp had a record sign ups — over 220 registered! We believe that this is just the precursor to what comes next and we’re very excited.
