Adonis Almonte, computer science student at northern Essex Community College & 2022 Fellow

Before knowing about Hack.Diversity per a recommendation from my mentor, I graduated in software development from my origin country in 2016.
I was then given the opportunity to live in the United States and start my journey to becoming a software developer — this has been my biggest achievement so far.

I continued pursuing my degree, and thankfully I finished my associate's degree in Computer Science and I am starting to work on my bachelor’s degree. In the course of my career, I have made some personal projects that I am proud of and I learned a lot from them. I started creating a Warehouse Management tool. In there I decided to do most of the modules by myself without the need to use an external library, in that way I learned more in-depth how some of those modules internally work.

My interest in technology started in my high school years when I was introduced to coding by a friend of mine. After that, I started doing simple problems using a programming language and ended up liking it. After that, I started to be invested even further after high school, and before starting going to a 4-year university, I decided to go to a tech institute. There I learned everything I know in software development.

What motivates me the most is the ability to create a solution that will help other people.

I am thinking right now at an enterprise level, but I will let my creativity run and start to create interactive media like video games, this is my life goal.
