If I’m going to start talking about my background and what is so special about it, I must start by saying I’m Paisa. Paisa is a term often used to describe a Colombian national whose place of birth is Medellin, CO. And when people hear about Medellin, they majorly hear either about Pablo or Reggaeton.

They fail to see how strong and fast Medellin is developing and how hard our people work to expand this city even amidst economic hardships and violence. But what I want to show to people is that we Paisas are very resilient people,

people who many times have had to leave our beloved country and town to come to the U.S. and other countries in a search for a better future for our families.

Technology, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary “comes from two Greek words, transliterated techne, and logos” which in short words is: art, craft, proficiency in an art or craft, systematic method of performing or engaging in an art. Technology as we know nowadays has a different meaning. But to me, technology still is art, the art of transforming this world. Once there was a man in history whose theory stated all living beings are products of years of evolution. Evolution in which would occur after natural selection. In my view, we never stopped evolving. Today’s technology is proof of human brains constantly evolving to achieve better things that our ancestors couldn’t.

I’ve always wanted to have a nice job, that kind of job where you go to the office and sit with your colleagues and discuss great ideas of a project, where you can express your approach to a certain problem, and you can learn from others too. Hack.Diversity not only can put me on the map, but it can also provide such an environment with cool people from different cultures and backgrounds, that just like me, would enrich workplaces with their unique way of thinking.
